How registration, payment, cancellation and personal information are handled at the Institute.
A place is reserved once registration is completed. Card payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Where in-person payment is offered, a place is held for 48 hours while payment is arranged. Fees are shown in US dollars and include all materials unless a workshop states otherwise.
If you cancel more than seven days before the first session, the fee is refunded in full. Between seven days and 24 hours before, half the fee is refunded. Within 24 hours, or after the workshop has begun, fees are not refunded, though we will always try to move a participant to a later date. If the Institute cancels or reschedules a workshop, participants receive a full refund or a place on the next available date, whichever they prefer.
Workshops are designed for children and young people. A parent or guardian must complete registration for any participant under 18 and provide contact details valid for the duration of the program. Please tell us in advance about any medical, accessibility or dietary needs so we can prepare properly.
We sometimes photograph workshops and student work for exhibitions, reports to sponsors, and our own materials. Tell us at registration or at any time afterwards if you would prefer a participant not to be photographed, and we will respect that without question.
We collect only what is needed to run the program: participant and guardian names, contact details, and any notes you choose to share. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the services that make the site work — our payment processor and our email provider. Registration records are kept while a participant is active in the program and for a reasonable period afterwards for our accounts.
Donations support art materials, digital software, educational field trips, exhibitions and student scholarships. A receipt is emailed for every gift. If a donation was made in error, contact us within 30 days and we will refund it.
